: Lumpy jaw .Rare in sheep,, Caused by Actinomyces bovis,
- Signs: There is marked enlargement of the horizontal ramus of the mandible. One or more sinuses may discharge from the bony swelling. There is enlargement of the ipsilateral submandibular lymph node.
- DDx:
- • Fracture of the horizontal ramus of the mandible.
- • Osteosarcoma.
- • Fibrosarcoma.
- • Tooth root abscess.
- **Treatment **The prognosis even after daily antibiotic injections with penicillin or trimethoprim/sulpha for 4–6 weeks is poor
